New Contest Prize Courtesy of Berroco

Berroco, one of my very favorite yarn companies, has generously donated two copies of their fabulous book, Comfort Knitting and Crochet: Afghans for you to win in the Charity Challenge contest!

{source: Berroco.com}

This book includes patterns for more than 50 afghans and throws to knit and crochet using Berroco’s Comfort yarn designed by Norah Gaughan, Margery Winter, and the rest of the Berroco Design Team.

Some of you may remember the lace throw I knitted this summer for my sister, for which I used Berroco Comfort.

The project was an absolute dream to knit and this yarn quickly became my all-time favorite acrylic.  Its silky softness, durability, and affordability really impressed me. In fact, I was so pleased with the project that I recently purchased this very book, intending to make a throw for our house soon.

The patterns in the book are very diverse, ranging from colorwork to textured and some knit in pieces with others worked all at one time.  Berroco.com offers a great audio slideshow where you can hear more about the book and see more about each pattern.   While you are there, be sure to check out their other fabulous patterns, including a huge section of free offerings, and sign up for their weekly newsletter that offers more free patterns and tutorials.

Thanks very much to Berroco for offering this great prize!

Haven’t entered the contest yet? There is still plenty of time! You have until December 31 to enter.

Here’s a reminder of how it works, in case you are just joining me:  You knit or crochet a project of your choice and donate it to a charity of your choice.  Throughout the contest, I’ll be featuring charities and projects to inspire you (see past posts here).  When you are finished with your project,  let me know about it by entering the contest via Flickr or the alternate online entry form.  That’s all there is to it!  I’ll draw winners using a random number generator in the first week of January 2011. Full contest rules and a complete list of sponsors and prizes can be found on the official contest page.

If you would like to donate a prize, or if you are affiliated with a charity you would like me to feature, please email me at wooldurham AT gmail DOT com.
