If you read my post from Monday, you may remember that I was trying to hold out against this beautiful yellow yarn and finish some of my many WIPs and UFOs in the limited knitting time I have these days.
So, given that, I suspect you are not the least bit surprised to see this:

Doh! The yarn wins again. I unskeined this (is that a word?) on Monday night and started the Hedera socks with it last night. Sometimes these demanding yarns just land in your lap and you have to drop everything else and knit them, right?
Other than my total lack of willpower against startitis when it comes to knitting, I can also credit two real influences for the birth of these yellow socks this week.
First, there was this:

These are Ann Budd’s new Abbey Road socks, designed for Quince&Co Tern yarn. I am completely smitten with this new US-based yarn company, from their sophisticated color palette, to the wonderful photos they use, to their growing selection of awesome patterns. So far, I have not yet ordered anything, but it is only a matter of time.
Then, this week, there was this:
Dana from the fabulous MADE blog declared a Celebrate Yellow series! How could I resist! I already had the yarn…
The rest is history.
