I just started the stockinette portion on Buttercup, a free Ravelry pattern by Heidi Kirrmaier. I am using Naturally Caron Spa for this project, a fairly inexpensive acrylic/bamboo blend available at craft stores. This yarn is very soft and drapes nicely, so I think I will really enjoy wearing this cute tee when it is finished. Like most yarns of this texture, this stuff splits a lot and requires a little attention. I also found that I got a much, much smaller gauge than the recommended DK. Mine is more like a sport to heavy fingering (25 sts to the inch). Thankfully, this pattern is knitted top down, so I am mostly referring to stitch counts for the “Large” size and tweaking the size as I go to end up with something like a 36″ size in the end.
Now that I’m finished knitting the complicated feather-and-fan neckline and shoulders, it will be smooth sailing all knit in the round to the bottom of this. I hope to have this one wrapped up soon.
